Writers Well Youth Fellowship

In honor of Women’s History Month, we would like to recognize a new member of Spartanburg Gives, Writers Well Youth Fellowship. Writers Well Youth Fellowship is a series of FREE creative workshops and retreats for Black girls/femmes ages 14 – 19 interested in writing and performance. Founded and facilitated by Crystal Tenille Irby, it provides a belonging space for girls to move toward healing, expand their imagination, and gather tools to prepare them as a Black creatives and thought leaders within their communities. The topics of the retreats and workshops (in-person & virtual) cover health and wellness, writing prompts, editing, being confident in authenticity, and exploring the possibilities of their talents and potential. Girls/femmes at Writers Well are supported by experienced Black women/femmes creatives to help sharpen their writing skills and self-expression at NO COST. The ultimate goal is to  build a creative community for Black girls that affirms their culture, nurtures connection,  and provides tools to navigate through the world as an unapologetic Black girl.

Writer’s Well will be having a FREE virtual workshop on Saturday, April 9th from 12-2pm for 12-14 year old girls. Applications will open on April 4th and will be open until April 30th.
