National Volunteer Week April 17-22, 2023

Volunteers are critical to the success and impact of nonprofit organizations. In 2022, the national value of volunteer time was an estimated $29.95 an hour, which means each hour someone volunteers for a nonprofit equals a huge positive impact on our community!

In honor of National Volunteer Week, we are highlighting special volunteer opportunities like preparing for Community Health Awareness Day (C.H.A.D.) with United Way of the Piedmont this Saturday, April 22!

United Way of the Piedmont is in need of volunteers for different aspects of C.H.A.D. including set up/clean up, managing the kid’s zone, food serving support, etc. To view the current needs for C.H.A.D., visit their volunteer portal.

In addition to Community Health Awareness Day, United Way of the Piedmont has more amazing resources to connect volunteers to opportunities and for nonprofits to find volunteers!

GetConnected on United Way of the Piedmont’s website is a one-stop shop for all volunteer opportunities in Spartanburg. This site is regularly updated with the most recent opportunities for you to volunteer or current asks from community members i.e. food and clothing donations. Get started at uwpiedmont.org/getconnected!

Not only is GetConnnected for volunteers but it is also a FREE resource for nonprofits to share volunteer needs, communicate with volunteers, and track volunteer impact. Organizations can learn more and start using the Get Connected platform at uwpiedmont.org/getconnected4agencies!
