Hub City Farmers Market is sponsoring a free education program, with funding provided by Spartanburg County Farm Bureau. Dr. Louis Whitesides of SC State University’s 1890 Land Grants Program will present “The Future of Black Farming.”
Join HCFM to learn more about the 1890 land-grant institutions, which are historically Black universities that were established under the Second Morrill Act of 1890. In addition to strengthening research, extension, and teaching in food and agricultural sciences, NIFA’s 1890 land-grant institutions programs aim to build institutional capacity.
The event will be hosted by Spartanburg Community College Downtown Campus, Evans Building in the Auditorium on Tuesday, February 28th at 6pm.
