Join BBBS Upstate for the 14th Annual Carolina-Clemson Pep Rally!
Join BBBS Upstate for the 14th Annual Carolina-Clemson Pep Rally on November 17th starting at 6 pm! The Pep Rally is a tailgating-themed event centered on the state rivalry between the Clemson Tigers and Carolina Gamecocks. Enjoy delicious tailgating food and drinks, photos with players and mascots, a 360 photo booth, BBBS mentoring testimonies, fun music, and so much more! There will also be an online auction that closes at 8:45 pm on November 17th (You do not need to be present to bid and win) as well as an in-person auction that will begin at 7:30 pm. Funds from the night will go towards creating and supporting meaningful one-to-one mentoring relationships that defend and ignite the promize, power, and potential of at-risk children and youth in the Upstate. DId you know that for over 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate is the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States? BBBS Upstate has been igniting, inspiring, and defending the potential of youth in the Upstate and believes that every child has the potential to succeed and thrive in life. The mission of BBBS is to create and support meaningful one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and potential of youth. Their vision is for all youth to reach their full potential though making meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers, Bigs, and children, Littles, across the Upstate.
BBBS Upstate offers community-based and school-based mentoring programs. Community-based mentoring consists of Bigs and Littles meeting for six hours per much to participate in fun activities they both enjoy. The school-based mentoring program allows for Bigs and Littles to meet for an hour once a week at the child’s school. While school-based mentoring is not a tutoring program, research has shown that all children matched with a Big in school improve their attitude and performance at school.
