SUMMARY:Poetry\, Potluck and Dialogue Community Gathering: Mindfulness\, Breathwork and Meditation for Racial Healing
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Monday June 5th for our Poetry\, Potluck & Dialogue Community Gathering! We will be IN PERSON at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Spartanburg and online via Zoom from 6p-8:30p. If you plan to join us online\, just click this LINK to register! Our discussion will be centered on the theme of Mindfulness\, Breathwork and Meditation for Racial Healing. \nOur theme for the month of June is Body Work as a Path to Racial Healing. When it comes to mindfullness\, breathwork and meditatation (all forms of body work)\, these are often used for physical wellness and healing of sorts. Racism impacts us all has caused harm to many. How can these forms of body work help in repairing that harm\, in building authentic relationships across real and perceived differences and see the inherent value in all people? We will conduct dialogue that dives into this and much\, much more! \nAnd don’t forget to bring your favorite dish and/ or dessert to enjoy while we fellowship with one another! We look forward to seeing you all on June 5th IN PERSON and via Zoom!

SUMMARY:BunnyBurg
DESCRIPTION:BunnyBurg is an experience where families can come in for an Easter/Spring experience. We offer pictures with the Easter Bunny down in the classroom\, with a decorated backdrop and bench for the kids to sit with the bunny. \nThe museum is decorated with Spring/Easter decorations with tables set up for Easter/Spring related crafts for the children. This year\, we are having only 5 crafts\, in hopes to have more room throughout the museum for families to enjoy limited play. With this; the market\, both baby areas\, treehouse\, water table\, train table\, and imagination playground will be open for families to enjoy during the event. \nFamilies will pick up their map when they first arrive\, along with a bunny bag for crafts\, then follow the bunny trail to each table\, of course stopping to play when they see the chance. Each time families stop at a table; they will get an Easter stamp on their map and a special egg to take home. (This can be a candy egg or a non-candy egg) This is an extra fun treat to get at each table and of course\, make sure each family is getting the most out of the five crafts we have for that day! \nFamilies will start on the lower level\, getting a picture with the Bunny first\, then moving through to exit on the top level. \nThree craft tables will be on the top floor and the other two on the bottom floor. Of course\, the Easter Bunny will be hiding out in the classroom for photos with the kids! The crafts on the top floor will consist of making Easter slime\, bunny food\, and creating your own easter egg painting in a Ziplock bag\, so it is mess free! \nThe crafts on the bottom floor will consist of making your own bunny ears to show off to the Easter Bunny and making a hand boutique to take home and keep forever!

SUMMARY:April Community Gathering: Creativity As A Tool Of Resistance
DESCRIPTION:Our next Community Gathering will be on Monday\, April 3rd from 6p-8:30 pm! We invite you to join us IN PERSON at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg and online via Zoom. If you plan to join us via Zoom please register by using the link provided. \nOur theme for the month of April is Creativity As A Tool of Resistance. We’ve discussed this theme in one of our previous Healing Us offerings and we will be expanding upon it further at this offering to kick off the month of April. \nArt has often been used as a way to protest against the injustices that we’ve faced in our modern society. Whether it be through visual art\, spoken word\, poetry\, etc.\, creatives have often led that charge. But when we think of our own forms of creativity\, how can we use that as resistance in our personal lives? What does that look like? What does that mean for us as individuals? How can we expand our art into our own resistance work? These are just a few questions that we will explore in this discussion.
