Speaking Down Barriers The Fount Open Mic & Discussion

March 15, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Join us on Tuesday March 15th on IG LIVE for The Fount Open Mic and discussion! We will be centering our discussion around Equity for All, our month long theme for our community events being held in March. We would love for you to join the discussion and share your poetry/ spoken word and art!

The Fount is a creative platform designed to give artists of every genre a space to express themselves openly and freely. Our guest poet for the month will be Crystal Tennille Irby!

Crystal is a spoken word poetry grand slam champion, published writer, director and co-host and executive producer of Dem Black Mama’s podcast. She identifies as a #BlackMamaCreative, an artist creating work across multiple artistic disciplines centering Black mothering, absent the white gaze. She is also the founder and Director of Writers Well Youth Fellowship, a program for Black girls ages 14-19 focused on writing and performance. All of this is just a small part of the work Crystal does. You can find out more by following her on social media (Facebook, @crystalTirby on Twitter, and @crystaltennilleirby on Instagram).

Our discussion will be led by our Executive Director Davelyn Hill along with facilitator, administrative support and social media strategist Max Lit.

We would love for you to join us and share some of your art as well! Join us on IG live starting at 6pm on March 15th!
