As we continue our theme of Abolition Past, Present and Future this month, we’re excited for our next Reading for Transformation discussion on Monday February 28th! The book we are reading this month is “We Do This ’Til We Free Us: Abolitionist Organizing and Transforming Justice” by Mariame Kaba. You can register for this virtual offering by using the following link and choosing ‘February 28th Reading for Transformation’ and the time you plan on attending (12 noon or 7pm).

Mariame Kaba is an organizer, educator and curator, with her work focusing on ending violence, dismantling the prison industrial complex, transformative justice and supporting youth leadership development.

“What if social transformation and liberation isn’t about waiting for someone else to come along and save us? What if ordinary people have the power to collectively free ourselves?” These two questions and much more are explored in this “timely collection of essays and interviews”. Kaba also “reflects on the deep work of abolition and transformative political struggle”.

If you ned to purchase this book and would like to support local business you can shop online with Beyond This February bookstore and Hub City bookshop in person or online.

We look forward to you joining us at noon or at 7p on Monday February 28th on Zoom!
