BRINGING BALLET BACK TO THE ‘BURG

Ballet Spartanburg will kick off their 21-22 season with The Wizard of Oz at the end of October, followed by The Nutcracker with the Spartanburg Philharmonic in December, Le Cabaret Rouge in the New Year,  An Evening with Carlos Agudelo celebrating his 30 years with the Ballet in collaboration with the Hub City Writers Project, and a night of family fun with A Midsummer Night’s Dream as the finale.

“We are thrilled to be back on the stage to offer to our community beautiful storytelling through the art of ballet. Carlos Agudelo has created an original version of The Wizard of OZ, original music and incredible costumes built by costume designer Maxine Moehlenbrock. The Wizard of Oz is such a beautiful story of love and friendship. We will collaborate with the Spartanburg Philharmonic for the first time in 20 years for The Nutcracker. We expect sold out performances. We are adding a performance for The Nutcracker. So it is an exciting 2021, our 55 year and Carlos’s 30th year. We have An Evening With Carlos Agudelo and A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Our Studio Series, La Cabaret Rouge-all in 2022. We are taking all safety precautions so our audience can feel at ease and enjoy coming back home to Ballet Spartanburg”.
