Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate has a mission of creating and supporting meaningful one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and potential of youth. Our vision is that ALL youth are able to reach their full potential.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate has two types of mentoring programs. In our community-based program, matches (Bigs and Littles) spend about six hours per month hiking, cooking, playing board games, and exploring the community. In the school-based program, matches spend one hour a week at the child’s school reading, having lunch, and just spending time together.
Littles who are supported through our proven mentoring relationships are more likely to stay in school and graduate, keep out of trouble, develop better social and emotional skills, and become independent adults who contribute to our community.
To become a mentor, click “Be A Big.” To defend the potential of an at-risk child, click “Enroll A Child.” To support the program, click “Be A Donor.” Together, we can help ALL youth reach their full potential.
