Together our Community is Stronger…

For fifty-seven years, Ballet Spartanburg has been enriching, engaging and educating the Spartanburg community by providing the highest quality dance education, performance, and outreach. Ballet Spartanburg serves the community through inclusion, embracing diversity, offering equity and most importantly, providing opportunities to unite the community through the love of dance.
The organization has created one of the most successful Arts in Education programs by reaching over 15,000 students annually with educational outreach programs, providing opportunities for students and adults with any challenge to attend a performance of The Nutcracker, and offering the community West African Dance and the Parkinson’s class at no cost. 

Ballet Spartanburg offers a Center for Dance Education annually with new classes and instructors focused on a higher standard of education and quality dance education.
Over 45 students of color have received scholarships through Project D.A.N.C.E, embracing opportunities for students learn any dance genre in the Center.

The professional company celebrates its 10th year as the only resident Professional Company in the state of South Carolina and this year, Ballet Spartanburg will partner with the Martha Graham Dance Company as one of 100 companies to celebrate for 3 years Martha Graham’s centennial year. Suite from Appalachian Spring, from Martha Graham’s iconic ballet Appalachian Spring, will be presented in March 2024 by Ballet Spartanburg, the only presentation in the state of SC.


Ballet Spartanburg is a nonprofit and relies on the kindness of Giving Tuesday.
